Appleby, combined sewer outflows into the River Eden saw 46 spills. At Kirkby Stephen on the River Eden, there were 135 spills. At Staveley on the River Kent, there were
283 spills. At Tebay on the River Lune, there were 124 spills.-" You've got to wonder why the Rivers Trust aren't publicising those figures themselves!

the
Government
has
committed
to
looking
at
the
funding
for
flood
schemes.
This
is
something
we
have
long
been
pushing
for
and
we
are
keen
to
know
more
about
the
Government's
plans
and
ensuring
that
flooded
peoples
voices are heard in any consultation.

think
many
folk
have
less
to
worry
about
these
days.
The
BBC
said
we'd
had
62mm
of
rain
in
town
yesterday
but
it
was
managed.
The
new
storage
pond
at
Springs
Road
clearly
helps
hold
back
water
across
town,
gradually
releasing it to the river.

founder
of

flood
action
group
has
accused
her
council
of
removing
support,
saying
residents are now "basically on our own".
Lis
Dales,
from
Castle
Street
Community
Flood
Action
Group
in
Kendal,
Cumbria,
said
the
change could put lives at risk and was "bordering on the negligent".
Other
community
groups
in
the
county
have
raised
concerns,
saying
that
more
could
be
done to protect people.
